We live full-time in a caravan… 🚐 Not a fancy one—just something we bought with 2 months’ wages 💸 No luxury. No drainage. Just the essentials: water, electric, and heat. And somehow… it works. It’s comfortable. It’s normal.
Two basics you need to live in a touring caravan full time!
We were woken up in the middle of the night by strong winds hitting our caravan 💨🚐 At first we hoped everything would hold… but then our awning pegs started failing one by one. Before we knew it, the awning collapsed completely. In the middle of the night we had no choice but to: 👉 jump out of bed 👉 hold the awning in strong winds 👉 pack everything away in the dark The next morning we checked for damage, looked around the campsite after the storm, and searched for things that had been blown away. The wind was still very strong… and with another stormy night ahead, we were left wondering: 👉 Will our caravan handle it? Live from Our Caravan - Real Caravan Life 🚐 Work, Week & Plans
In this video we take you on a full tour of Camping Malvarrosa, a campsite located right next to the beach on the Spanish coast 🇪🇸 At first glance the location looks amazing — the campsite has beautiful gardens and is less than a minute walk from the beach. However during our visit the campsite had recently been affected by storms and flooding, and some areas were clearly still recovering. During our walk around the site we show you: 🏕 the different camping pitches 🌿 the beautiful garden areas 🚿 newly refurbished (but unfinished) toilet blocks 🌧 areas affected by recent flooding 🏠 the residential part of the campsite 🌊 and the beach just steps away from the entrance Camping Malvarrosa definitely has huge potential, but during our visit we had very mixed feelings about the overall condition of the site. Living and working as a campsite warden isn’t for everyone. But if you love being outdoors, caravanning, gardening, walking, and meeting new people, you might absolutely thrive in this lifestyle. And if you can fit your entire life into 15 square metres, you could be about to embark on something truly life-changing. For us, working as campsite wardens and living on-site ticks all the boxes. It keeps us active and healthy, provides steady income, and gives us the freedom to travel when the season ends. Then, when we’re ready to slow down, we return and settle in again. In this video, I’ll share five reasons why we love this lifestyle — from the physical benefits to the financial side, and above all, the impact on our health. It’s a simple, peaceful, and profitable way of working — on your own terms. For the right person, being a campsite warden doesn’t feel like a chore at all. Of course, there are challenges too. We’re about to begin our seventh season as campsite wardens, and we still love the lifestyle and the many perks that come with the job. No two days are ever the same — we’re constantly learning, solving new challenges, and spending most of our time outdoors, which keeps us active and fit. One of the biggest bonuses for us is the time we get to spend together. It’s a unique way to work and live, sharing both the responsibilities and the rewards. And when the season winds down, we often have the time — and the savings — to travel. For us, it’s one big adventure. Of course, the job has its challenges too, but the rewards far outweigh them. We are about to begin our 7th season as campsite wardens, we still love it!
After two comfortable weeks staying in a beautiful Airbnb villa near Alicante, it was finally time to return to touring caravan life 🚐 We packed everything, hit the road and headed towards our next campsite… but just before arriving we discovered something worrying. The campsite was suddenly marked as temporarily closed. After calling the reception we learned that recent storms had flooded many of the pitches and the site was officially closed. However, they invited us to come and take a look and decide for ourselves. So we took the risk. In this video you’ll see: 🌧 storm damage around the campsite 🚐 what the flooded pitches looked like 🛞 the challenge of pitching our caravan on muddy ground 😅 and whether we managed to settle in or not Sometimes caravan travel doesn’t go exactly to plan… but that’s part of the adventure!
